See the $2.2M Demand Letter Sent to Former Management

$2.2 Million Demand:
Full Letter Now Available

Dear Homeowners,

As part of your Board’s ongoing commitment to transparency, the Association is now releasing the original demand letter that the Board sent to Paine-Anderson and its representative, Karen Paine, regarding the very damaging and costly issues impacting our Association.

The Association did not initially make this available as it was the Association’s desire to try and amicably resolve this with Paine-Anderson to the extent possible. However, circumstances surrounding the demand have recently changed, allowing the Association to now share this critical document with our homeowners.

This letter outlines the basis for the $2.2 million demand against the former property management due to significant harm caused under its tenure. We believe it is important that every homeowner has the opportunity to review this information and fully understand the Board’s efforts to recover funds and protect our community’s financial stability.

The full demand letter can be accessed in the Owners Portal under Documents → Legal or directly using the button below.

We remain committed to providing clear, factual updates on all significant matters impacting our community. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Sincerely,

Your Volunteer Board of Directors
Highlands Homeowners' Association, Inc.

Candidate Q&A:
This Thursday – Don’t Miss It!

We invite all homeowners to attend the upcoming Board of Directors Candidate Q&A.

Event Details:

This Q&A will follow a structured format designed to ensure fairness, equal opportunity, and focus on issues relevant to the Highlands HOA. It operates very much like the city commission candidate Q&A held last year, with each candidate answering timed questions as outlined in the official format and rules.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. By pre-registering, you:

  • Help us prepare seating and materials so the event runs smoothly.
  • Ensure a quick, hassle-free check-in when you arrive.
  • Allow us to anticipate attendance, ensuring everyone is accommodated.

It only takes a moment and greatly helps us prepare.

While we cannot make promises due to technological limitations, we will do our best to either record or live stream the Q&A. It is our desire to make this session available to homeowners who cannot attend in person.

Note: The Board meeting originally scheduled to follow the Q&A has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 7:00pm (arrive by 6:30 PM for check-in), at SCSO 100 Eslinger Way Sanford FL 32773.
